Card Gift Bags

Card bags will hold up to 8 normal sized cards and are make by folding a 12 x12 sheet of paper of your choice and i also made roses on belly bands which hold them upright when needed. Roses ...i use the stamping up flower punch and has six layers. lots of versions of these on Pinterest.

Lolly Rings

Lolly rings have 500 grams of Cadbury chocolate eclairs tied on a wire ring and measure 20cm across and can be used as a table centre with a candle added. They make a nice family gift. I have made these for the markets that are on Sat 5th, Sun 6th and Fri 11th(twilight) and Sun 13th December Morwell.

Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and dies with stars embossing folder (Kaszazz)background and assorted dies and stamps. Stickles also been used. Trees and birds have been colored with Tim Holtz Ranger distress inks.

We recycled Christmas cards,and created new ones, also made boy and girl baby cards for a twilight market Friday night.

Christmas Card

Was just mucking around with a arched window die to make square and longer to fit a Tim Holtz Christmas tree behind.Window was cut twice and has acetate in between  it. Brick walls embossed and inked.

This weeks challenge for class is papers by Kaiser Craft and Darkroom Door stamp sets "NOEL" and "DEAR SANTA VOL 1" products supplied by  Chillie Crafts

first set is a Christmas card with a matching tag

Techniques

1. colored with inks, stamped with black, then background versamark and white embossing powder. Ink wasn't quite dry so gave a distressed look.
2. white photo paper and versamark and clear embossing powder, then water colored.
3. versamark background and silver heat emboss then sponged with distress inks, silver embossing looks wonderful.

EMBOSSING.... can be done with a folder and put through a cuttlebug or stamp with ink and use embossing powders.

1. stamped in white ink and distress ink rubbed over, this works well for backgrounds.
2. stamped in versamark (clear ink) then sprinkled with white embossing power and heated. rubbed with   distress ink.
3. stamped in versamark and heat embossed with bronz powder.
4. versamark and fine glitter....this hasnt worked so well.
5. stamped with versamark and ulta thick embossing powder, heat and then colored with inks.
6. stamped with versa mark and rubbed with chalk for a soft look.
7. folder embossed then chalked.
8. Embossing folder rubbed inside with ink then run through the cuttlebug.

Coffee on the go.

Coffee on the go, take time to smell the coffee. Done on smaller tags, stenciled and stamped. Did these for our Sunday market but had a bad day and come home with all of them. I added ribbon and only put a $1 each. on them.

Recycled paper, distress inks, Darkroom Door Coffee Time stamps kept me productive. Now to get my creative juices going to put these onto cards or tags.

Tag Holder

Tags have become one of my favorite things at the moment and i needed to store them to show off.....found in my stash a notebook about the size of the tags and covered it with a serviette and clear gloss sealer and had odd letters left from a project which were perfect. I glued 2 pages together and then on each page i put in corners to hold the tags so they can be removed and stay put if needed.

More Birds

More birds done for a market and I did over 20 and sold most of them ,so very pleased. 

These were done very quickly with stencils and stamps and the birds were already done.

Scary Birds

 

Well more of Tim Holtz birds on a double hinged tag which could be used for scrapbooking, journaling or cards.
Stamped the bird crazy accessories, water colored with distress inks and cut out.
Also  tried out on this one the sizzix thinlets die which i love, have put them on my wish list.

Background  is spiced marmalade and distress inks have been used on all.

Crazy Birds and Halloween Tags

This is a fun project to do, these tags are for a class at Chilli Crafts Church St Morwell Victoria.
Background is done with distress ink spiced marmalade, sizzix dies and darkroom door stamps and Tim Holtz crazy birds. (more to come)

Art Journals page 2 - Halloween

Its nearly Halloween even though we dont celebrate it much here in Australia,  we can use our imagination and create some spooky cards and pages for journals or scrap-booking.
Using Tim Holtz Dies again, the haunted house, the rickety fence and of course the crazy birds.
Crazy birds come with some wonderful accessories to dress up the birds for any occasion, hat, broom and pumpkin. From my stash of dies I added a spider web, cats and hand cut the bats.
Background was done with the new Delusions paint, great to use and has a good coverage and very smooth, also did fence and house with the paint. I masked the moon and also used the Delusions paint in bright yellow. Not a good pic sorry black is a bit hard to get right.

Art Journal page 1- Forever friends.

Having fun still with these great birds that just about suit anything you put your mind to. Trying my hand at journals, as the pages i want to do are bigger than my card size and allows me the freedom to try new things and put more on the pages.
Background has been done with ranger archival ink in french ultramarine and aquamarine and was applied with a baby wipe as i couldn't get the softness i wanted. Stamps used were darkroom door chicken wire and mesh.Tim Holtz bird crazy done in the newest colors of the mini distress inks with a water pen.
I like die cut alphabets for doing bold words and one word statements on my cards and pages.

Mr cool has a stenciled brick background with a small cross hatching stamp behind the bird and lets party is done with an embossing folder and both have been done in distress inks.

Crazy Birds and Coffee

another day playing with ink, stamps and dies.....

Creating backgrounds for my crazy birds with distress ink mini pads. Its a lot of fun and a little messy, but every one is completely different. Just stamp ink onto a craft mat , spritz with water and drag your card stock through the ink and dry.

Then cut to size to fit card and stamp with a stazon ink. The white cups were stamped and then i used a paintbrush and bleach to get the desired effect.....loved it. the colored cups were watercolored with distress inks then cut out and slotted together. All birds were stamped in black stazon, colored with distress inks and then die cut.

Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps

Hi there, sorry it is a while between posts. i have been busy with my friends once a week trying new things, been making journals will post them soon as well as a lot of cards.

I have just purchased Tim Holtz bird crazy stamps which i just love and have used distress inks, water spritzer on the backgrounds and painted the birds with the waterpen and distress inks. This is my first try at this and found it very relaxing.

These are a thank you for a 50 birthday and are 3 by 3 notelets. Also made the envelopes for these with the envelope punch board. Numbers - dies, stickers colored with alcohol pens to match

Yesterday was a very productive day with stamping, embroidery. and making thank you notelets with Jenny and making a card with Gail. i also tried something outside the box......

A calico stamped tag pincushion.....first i stamped with JOY beach hut and colored with alcohol pens and ironed to set.

Hi there, welcome to my page...... my name is Susan Welsh and this is a blog about my crafts and experiences in life. I was born and bred in Latrobe Valley in Victoria Australia. I have 4 children (1 deceased) 2 cats and 2 Chinese crested dogs.
I have had a few challenges in the last couple of years, which has made me look at life and what I have to offer, with the death of my 30 yo son December 2013 and then my mum at 78 in February 2015. Im trying to get my life back on track......
